GIANFRANCO CELESTINO
Gianfranco Celestino studied contemporary dance at the Folkwang-Hochschule in Essen and at the Isola Academy in Venice under the direction of Carolyn Carlson. In 1999, he was awarded a grant for the Dance WEB in Vienna where he completed his training. Gianfranco has worked with Les Ballet C. de la B., Bernard Baumgarten, and Arazzo Tanztheater and, since 2002, has developed his own choreographic language. He created Sweet Dreams as a tribute to the city of Luxembourg. It proposes a portrait of the city that is full of imagination and subjectivity, criticism, parody, enchantment and disenchantment. He later created his site-specific piece Travel Diaries with a staged performance of a travel journal recounting an artist-in-residence program. He is a member of Maskénada who have been developing cultural projects in Luxembourg for more than 20 years. He regular teaches Contact Improvisation in Luxembourg. SEE HERE
