ACTING WITH ACTION: CORPOREAL IMPROVISATIONAL THEATRE:
After a physical and creative warm-up, participants will be guided through a series of simple exercises to help identify how to keep the energy of a scene alive – namely how to use their bodies as a source of creativity and connect with their stage partners through the senses. The workshop is suited for all levels of experience, from novice to veteran performers. At the end of the workshop, everybody will know how to get a perfect start to any scene, whether improvised or scripted. And for those who never knew what to do with their arms on stage, some of these exercises will be pure gold...
CASPAR SCHJELBRED
Caspar is an international performer and teacher specialising in physical theatre, mime and corporeal expression. He is a teaching associate of Ira Seidenstein, International School of Acting And Creativity. In 2001 he co-founded The Improfessionals improvisation theatre company in Paris. He was artistic director from 2008-2014. In 2015 he was appointed co-director of Doll Tearsheet theatre company, creating scripted contemporary pieces for theatre. In 2016 he completed a six week tour of his solo show Plan C, performing throughout Australia and New Zealand. Plan C has previously been performed in Paris, Montreal, Brussels, Sofia and Gothenburg. Other scripted work highlights include Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream in French and the soldier in Der Reigen (La Ronde) in German. . www.improsupreme.com
